Terri Lockwood #23 on the 2019 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct. 11-13th

Terri is a mixed media painter and photographer with more recent emphasis on incorporating the encaustic method and tools to her work. The addition of beeswax to an art piece opens up a harmonious process that offers continual prospect for technical diversity: waxing, scraping, carving, stamping, incising, embedding, fusing and layering in addition to endless possibilities when joined with mixed media.

Megan Johnson #1 on the 2019 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct. 11-13th

Megan Woodard Johnson

Johnson’s abstract mixed media process combines collected materials like vintage school books, ledgers, and hand-written correspondence with expressive layers of paint and drawn marks. This juxtaposition of vintage materials with intuitive abstract mark making creates contemporary paintings that celebrate the energy of the present as well as the nostalgia of the past.
