Rix loves the
challenge of looking at a familiar scene and simplifying it into shapes, colors
and her own vision. She paints in oil,
alla prima and primarily en plein air , with quick brush work and a limited
palette. The Wisconsin landscape, towns
and seasons are her inspiration. Rix has
been juried in to many shows and her paintings can be found in numerous private
and public collections.
