Laura Weber #18 on the 2018 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct. 12-14th

Laura Weber is a fiber artist focusing on functional and sculptural basketry.
Laura first learned basket making like many before her, in the homes of others who shared their skills, whether out of the necessity of creating useful vessels, or a desire to pass on an ancient craft to future generations. She continues to work with traditional basketry materials and forms, yet often incorporates found objects and mixed media elements to create sculptural vessels.

Laura Weber #18 on the 2015 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct 9-11th

Laura Weber is a fiber artist focusing in the area of functional and sculptural basketry. Laura first learned basket making like many before her, in the homes of others who taught  the craft, whether out of the necessity of creating useful vessels, or a desire to pass on an ancient craft to future generations.

She further developed her techniques from accomplished basket artists who teach at workshops and conferences across the country. Laura currently works out of her studio in the Woolen Mill Building in Cedarburg, WI.

With a desire to further promote an appreciation of this traditional craft, and to pass on the knowledge and skills to preserve it, Laura teaches basket weaving classes at The Pink Llama Gallery in Cedarburg, WI. A schedule of classes can be found on her website www.WeberArts.com
