In 2011, an 1850's barn in Cedarburg was restored for use as an temporary exhibition space, preservation room, classrooms, and offices. The property also includes a farmhouse, summer kitchen, blacksmithery, lambing shed, privy, chicken coop, and corn crib all dating back to their use as a late 1800's working German farmstead. Laura Weber #18 on the 2018 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct. 12-14th
Laura Weber is a fiber artist focusing on functional and sculptural basketry.
Laura first learned basket making like many before her, in the homes of others who shared their skills, whether out of the necessity of creating useful vessels, or a desire to pass on an ancient craft to future generations. She continues to work with traditional basketry materials and forms, yet often incorporates found objects and mixed media elements to create sculptural vessels.
