Laurie Shovers #7 on the 2018 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct. 12-14th
Laurie Shovers' jewelry consists of fine, hand-woven beading stitched around anodized aluminum spools and shapes that she designs and has manufactured to her exacting specifications. She then combines these shapes & spools with not only her bead weavings, but with other metals, stones, and found objects. This combination of diverse materials and processes result in unique, colorful, lightweight modern jewelry. Her hope is that you like wearing it as much as she likes making it!

Laurie Shovers #7 on the 2016 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct 7-9th
I started my career as a graphic designer, but switched to jewelry in the 1980's
wanting more time at home with my young children.
As an artist, I've always been fascinated with color and pattern and I feel this is reflected
in my current jewelry. I design and execute small shapes & spools out of lightweight aluminum, anodize them in rich saturated colors and then leave areas on these pieces where I add
small hand woven beautifully patterned beaded strips. A unique marriage of materials.

Mitch Azoff #4 on the 2015 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct 9-11th
All of my
jewelry is made of copper, a warm and beautifully colored metal. I have always
drawn from my experience as a designer of furniture and accessories, which I
acquired at RIT School for American Craftsmen in the early 70's.
I
use various techniques to change the surface of the metal pieces I make,
creating interesting surfaces that compliment my designs. Incorporating other
materials and colors completes the wearable art that is Coppershot Jewelry.
Enjoy

Catherine Laing #22 on the Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct 10-12th
Catherine Laing's imagination and creativity are the guiding
forces behind her fabricated jewelry. Using gold and silver, she fashions the
wire and sheet by bending, pounding, sawing, soldering and polishing. "My
goal is to work with precious metals and gems, designing wearable pieces of
art."
Now located in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, (since 1980) Catherine has seen her talent mature after graduating from Cornell College in 1975 with a degree in Art Metals. Strongly influenced by travel and study in Scandinavia and the American Southwest, she combines the two styles into her original designs. "I love stones and the challenge presented by designing around one or more of them."
Catherine's success and growing reputation are recognized through regional and national gallery representation. Over thirty years, Edgewood Orchard Gallery in Fish Creek, Wisconsin, has sold her jewelry, but mainly you'll find her in the Pagoda, working in the back. Unique stones, meticulous workmanship, and high artistic achievement characterize Catherine's one-of-a-kind creations. "I'm thrilled to see one of my pieces on someone, and happy to know it is being worn and appreciated."
