Lynn Rix #28 on the 2018 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct. 12-14th

Rix loves the challenge of looking at a familiar scene and simplifying it into shapes, colors and her own vision. She paints in oil “alla prima” and primarily en plein air , with quick brush work and a limited palette.  The Wisconsin landscape and towns in all seasons are her inspiration.  Rix has been juried into many shows and her paintings can be found in numerous private and public collections.

Pamela Ruschman #29 on the 2018 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct. 12-14th

Pamela Ruschman is an oil painter who grew up on a dairy farm in Southwestern Wisconsin.  The rolling hills, vistas and barns from this area of the state provide continual inspiration.  After spending twelve years in the advertising industry, she decided to pursue the idea of painting full time.  Often, Pamela can be found plein air painting along a quiet country roadside or near a dairy farm capturing the livestock, landscape and beauty of Wisconsin on canvas.  In 2017, Pamela was chosen as the Wisconsin Collection Featured Artist for Milwaukee Public Television.

Lynn Rix #34 on the 2017 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct. 13-15th

Lynn Rix paints almost exclusively “en plein”, outside , from life. You can find her out in all seasons, with the Wisconsin snowy winter and painting from her boat in the summer being her favorites. Rix works spontaneously and in the impressionist style with quick brush work and a limited palette, catching a quick snapshot of a particular moment in time. Her paintings are full of light, atmosphere and emotion which clearly depict her love of the outdoors and her home state of Wisconsin.

Come see the woods and river, and the studio where Ellen Anderson finds inspiration for her many oil on canvas paintings!  Exploring the large and small drama played out in light and land, where owls, fox and other native fauna connect with a glance.
Ellen’s work has been in the Wisconsin Wildlife Exhibition at the Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay, the Hidden River Arts Festival in Brookfield, the Plymouth Art Center, Art & Soul Gallery, Milwaukee, and will be featured next year at the Boerner Gardens.  She has illustrated for National Wildlife Federation and is nationally published illustrator in watercolor.  This weekend she also offers small whimsical framed Holiday illustrations and children’s books from her watercolor life.

"A self taught artist of many years having formally been introduced to art 
as a participant of an Alverno Summer Arts Program in the 1970's, William has 
explored various media to include photography, oil and acrylic painting.   
He especially enjoys expressing himself through the creation of multimedia 
folk art. In addition to a collection of bold landscape oils, prepare yourself 
for William's Folk Art Presentation of "Cedarfish."  An avid historic 
preservationist, William has always been fascinated with the designs of 
Frank LLoyd Wright and for this reason enjoys architectural photogrphy.   
Having studied Black and While photography while attending Caroll College, 
in this inaugural tour William will also feature his series titled, 
"Bridges of Milwaukee."
