Jewell Riano is a Wisconsin artist
who takes a non-traditional approach to subject matter, in both acrylic
painting and printmaking. Jewell lives in Mequon, Wisconsin with
her husband, James Bradley. She has two daughters and four grandsons.
Art education was the center of
her early career, as art teacher and supervisor of art teachers. She has taught
art in Kentucky, Indiana, and Wisconsin, as
well as in Bogota, Colombia, South
America. Her later endeavor was dedicated to leadership
and school administration. Since her recent retirement, she has returned to her
art and now considers herself a professional artist.
Jewell works mostly from her
home studio, and creates monoprints on
large presses at the Ozaukee Art Center in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, where
she enjoys a mentorship with Paul Yank - several of her works of art are on
display there in the gallery.
