Renée Graef has illustrated over 70 books for children
including the Kirsten series in the
American Girl collection and many of the My
First Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder for HarperCollins. She
served as creative consultant for HarperCollins for five years, art directing
many of the books in the Little House program.
She has illustrated classics such as The Nutcracker and My
Favorite Things as well as books about American icons, Mount Rushmore and Paul Bunyan.
Renee's sketches and prints of time
alphabet book (done in a
"steampunk" style) will be shown. Books will be available for a recently
completed book for Mount Rushmore, highlighting
the monument as well as other national parks.
This
year, two illustrations from the "Cedarburg" book have garnered
national recognition with awards from the Society of Illustrator-West show in Los Angeles, winning a
Silver Award and an Honorable Mention Award.
