Mitch Azoff #4 on the 2015 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct 9-11th
All of my
jewelry is made of copper, a warm and beautifully colored metal. I have always
drawn from my experience as a designer of furniture and accessories, which I
acquired at RIT School for American Craftsmen in the early 70's.
I
use various techniques to change the surface of the metal pieces I make,
creating interesting surfaces that compliment my designs. Incorporating other
materials and colors completes the wearable art that is Coppershot Jewelry.
Enjoy
Meredith Kane Shimp #7 on the 2015 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct 9-11th
"Junk Rethunk" is the unofficial name I've given my studio,
which began in 2003 after I sold my first piece (a wood tray made with
found objects, acrylic paint and resin). Since then my work has expanded
to acrylic paintings and a variety of refurbished items made from wine + beer
bottles, bottle caps, wine corks, palette wood and other random salvaged
materials. I also love working with glass and clay in my small home kiln. I'm
finding that as I age, my interests ebbs and flow... which is why it's typical
that my studios both at the Arts Mill and at home are filled with projects
using all kinds of mediums.

Maria Maja #28 on the 2015 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct 9-11th
Maria Maja enjoys painting
abstract, impressionistic-symbolic art in her studio. A term coined by the artist. Maria is able (with this method) to paint
intuitively.
Starting out as a realist, she found her present way of painting more
fun. In the beginning, she relates, she found it frustrating at times
when she began painting this new way in 1991. Going from designing
realistic paintings for greeting cards, she had to rethink on how to create
art. Frustration at first, turned
to total freedom, as she began to understand the process of letting go of her preconceived
ideas about art. She says she hates to admit it, but at one time she
thought artists who painted abstract art didn’t know how to paint. Maria
learned the opposite was true through the years.
More of her biography can be found on www.abstractandme.comThursday, September 24, 2015
Lynn Rix #31 on the 2015 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct 9-11th
Lynn Rix loves the challenge of
looking at a familiar scene and simplifying it into shapes, colors and her own
vision. She paints “alla prima” and primarily en plein air , with quick brush
work and a limited palette. Working quickly and spontaneously, Lynn
gives the viewer a quick snapshot of that particular moment in time; an
impression of an effect of light. Rix
began painting in 1995 while living in the south of France.
She was physically and emotionally compelled to try to put down on canvas the
beauty of the area’s atmosphere, sunlight, buildings and everyday life. It was
impossible not to find inspiration in the same region where Matisse, Renoir,
Cezanne, van Gogh, and countless others had set up their easels. An inspiration
that has continued to sustain her in the pursuit of creating the fresh canvas.

Jeff Austin #11 on the 2015 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct 9-11th
Not everything in our lives can be beautiful and unique, but
we can spice up our surroundings with a piece of art or something handcrafted. So I try to make
things that not only look nice but are used on a regular basis. You can get your “stuff” in any number of
stores, but you should treat yourself to a few everyday “possessions” from an
artist or craftsman.
Jack Pachuta #18 on the 2015 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct 9-11th
ARTIST’S STATEMENT: JACK PACHUTA
The world is a magnificently complex mixture of
color, light, textures and shapes!
Look closely at what's around you and you'll
see a universe of inspiration. Every day you'll find something you haven’t see
before to stimulate your imagination. That's what I do via my monoprints - I
make people see things they might not otherwise see.
When completing my
prints, I take a non-traditional approach to my subject matter. The people,
flora and fauna that provide my artistic inspiration are placed in unique
environments enabling my audiences to see them in new, thought-provoking lights.
The combination of traditional printmaking techniques with the craftsmanship of
pencil and ink renderings creates vibrant, dramatic colors coalescing around
specific textures. Each work, then, tells a story intrinsic to the subject.
When viewing my work, you'll discover an
enhanced reality - tones, hues and shadows that prompt you to go beyond your
existing perspective of what you're truly seeing.
At its core, artist’s
challenge is to portray the usual in unusual ways and to make people see what
they might not otherwise see. This is precisely what I attempt to do. Enjoy
your voyage through my artwork and focus on seeing the world differently!

EDEN
FARM
Eden Farm soaps are all natural, hand crafted artisan soaps
made from scratch using the cold process method. I make my soap in small
batches because this allows me the ability to create many different
combinations of lovely oils, botanicals, clays and essentials oil blends that
when combined with goat’s milk, provide a wonderful cleansing, nourishing and
moisturizing experience. I started making soap, lotion bars and lip balms for
family & friends and found I loved the whole creative experience. When I’m
making soap I imagine how this particular soap will look and feel. All the
while I am enveloped by the scent of the essential oil blend. It’s a bit of
heaven. It’s also become such a joy for me to share my soap beyond just family
and friends. I thrive on the interaction with new and returning customers. It’s
a wonderful connection.

“Boer Works Ceramic Studio”
Diane Boer-Henke
I have been working
with clay on and off for 35 years.
Moving into
a 1908 Foursquare home in Cedarburg with my husband Dave, I finally had the
room to create a Boer Works Studio in the old pump room in our basement.
I have
always loved clay as a medium. I am inspired by life and the faces of people I
have met. I feel that faces are like a map that can illustrate our experiences
and emotion. I am wonderfully intrigued by the lines etched by time on each of
us dwelling on this earth.
I welcome
you to visit my studio and see what emerges from the clay….

Deb Rolfs #18 on the 2015 Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour stop Oct 9-11th
Painting is challenging,
therapeutic and relaxing for me. I am inspired by color, and incorporate
bold colors in my paintings. I try to
convey warmth, optimism and fun in my paintings. While I love the process
of painting - creating and watching the painting unfold - my greatest joy in
painting is when someone else enjoys the piece.
I am a Board Member of
the Cedarburg Artists Guild and a member of Wisconsin Visual Artists. I was recently the winner of the “People’s
Choice” Award in the Cedarburg Cultural Center’s “Third Annual Members’ Exhibit”
in December of 2014, and was the CCC’s Artist in Residence in
January 2015.
My original oil and
acrylic paintings can be seen at the the Pink Llama Gallery and the Main Street
